Panel – Develop new markets: collaborate to win more, with Patrice Côté, Mathieu Bergeron, and Marilyne Simard

Registration required
8:30 AM to 9:15 AM
Synergy Room

In an industry where companies are both competitors and interdependent, collaboration is no longer an option: it is a strategic lever to access new markets. This panel will highlight how the complementarity of expertise: in engineering, innovation, and industrialization, makes it possible to realize business opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach. Through concrete examples, the panelists will share the winning conditions for building strong partnerships, based on trust, alignment of objectives, and a clear sharing of roles and risks. The discussion will also address the most common pitfalls: poorly defined partnerships, asymmetric commitment, governance issues, and divergent expectations. At the heart of the exchanges, a strategic question for the industry arises: how to structure collaborations that turn competitors into true growth catalysts?

Panel – Beyond Gender: Performance, Influence, and Impact, with Joanne Lefebvre and Éloïse Harvey

Registration required
3:30 PM to 4:30 PM
Synergy Room

This panel shows that leadership is neither feminine nor masculine. It is defined by a person's ability to create impact and lasting value. Performance relies above all on the quality of decisions, the strength of influence, and the ability to mobilize talent, not on gender. This panel aims to go beyond labels to focus on what truly distinguishes today's leaders: strategic vision, managerial courage, agility, and a culture of collaboration.

How can one exercise influence that unites? How can the diversity of perspectives be turned into a competitive advantage? And how can organizations be built where power is measured by results and collective impact? A frank and structured discussion to break gendered distinctions and rethink leadership as a true lever for growth and sustainable transformation.

She enjoys connecting with them, understanding their realities and day-to-day challenges, while also taking the time to recognize and celebrate their successes. This mindset—rooted in listening, respect, and collaboration—makes her a trusted and committed partner in developing meaningful, high-impact projects. At the intersection of leadership, economic development, and relational intelligence, her career has led her to reflect on leadership beyond gender, focusing instead on skills, boldness, and impact rather than labels. Through a dynamic exchange of questions and answers, the discussion will focus on the role and strength of the associative sector, drawing on Anie Perrault's experience as president of BIOQuébec from 2013 to 2022. Anie will review the levers that helped restore the association's credibility and influence on the Quebec political scene: the growth in the number of members, the mobilization and federation of life sciences stakeholders around structuring events, as well as playing an active role in the development of government policies related to the development and growth of the Quebec biotechnology sector. The objective of this conversation is to establish concrete parallels between the path and achievements of BIOQuébec and the action and impact potential of the SVA, from a perspective of strategic development and sustainable influence.

Workshop conference – Market Diversification, hosted by Nadine Brassard: Presented by Chapeau Rouge

Louis Hémon Room

For companies in the aluminum sector, expanding their markets is no longer an option: it is an essential lever for growth and competitiveness. In a context marked by geopolitical uncertainty, tariff pressures, the energy transition, and the rapid evolution of supply chains, dependence on a limited number of markets carries major risks. Diversification not only helps reduce these risks, but also allows seizing new high-value business opportunities. The companies that will succeed tomorrow will be those that see diversification not as a constraint, but as a strategic opportunity to reposition themselves in a transforming global market. Among the major trends to consider are: the increased demand for low-carbon footprint aluminum, the traceability and transparency of supply chains, the customization of solutions according to industrial applications, as well as the ability to offer value-added services (engineering, technical support, reliable timelines). It is now necessary to go beyond product-specific competitive advantages. Quality, know-how, and technical expertise are no longer enough to stand out from the competition. That is why entering new markets cannot be done blindly. A clear strategy is needed, aligned with the company's internal capabilities, and above all, an in-depth understanding of the target markets: their specific needs, their standards, their expectations regarding performance, durability, and service. By adopting a proactive approach, using market intelligence to adapt their positioning to local needs and realities, building strong partnerships, and clearly communicating their value proposition, companies will be able to stay ahead.
